Seminar on Inter-LGU Cooperation

In the framework of the Programme on “Decentralisation and Local Development – dldp”, implemented by HELVETAS Swiss Intercooperation and the programme on “Empowerment of Local and Regional Governance Structures”, implemented by the Council of Europe, with the support of the Swiss Development Cooperation Agency and under the care and direct interest of the Ministry of Interior, was organised the seminar on Inter-LGU Cooperation.
This seminar aimed to provide assistance in policy formulation, legal support and technical assistance for capacity building of local authorities to the implementation of Inter-Municipal Cooperation (IMC) and Human Resource Management (HRM) developed based on priorities and objectives of the Albanian Government.

Capacity building of representatives of local government units is a common objective of both projects dldp and CoE and in this context, one-day seminar addresses the policies, criteria and legal support to Inter Municipal Cooperation.
23 (10 women) representatives from the Local Government Units from the Qarks of Shkodër, Lezhë, Dibër dhe Kukës; The Deputy Minister of Interior, Mr. Ferdinand Poni, representatives of the Council of Europe Programme – CoE, dldp and Swiss Cooperation  participated in this workshop.
