Thematic WS on Organization of Election Campaign for Female Candidates

On the frame of Decentralization and Local Development Programme dldp program, the thematic Workshop titled “ORGANIZATION OF THE ELECTORAL CAMPAIGN” was organized in cooperation with National Democratic Institute NDI. The WS took place in Montenegro from 14-16th January 2011. It was attended by 38 female participants representing the present counselors and political members’ from both Shkodra and Lezha Qarks.

The WS selection process was jointly done with NDI based on the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between dldp & NDI for synergy on women empowerment for the next local election
The thematic training aimed to provide knowledge on better performance of the female candidates during the election campaigns as well as better lobbing on female candidates support in the region. Meanwhile the WS intended to build capacities toward increasing women representation and performance quality in policy.

Main knowledge and exercises developed were focused on media representing, press realize preparation, press conference preparation, speech preparation for different targets, door to door meetings organizing etc. All related themes have been exercised by the participants of the working groups.  .

This WS was a strong ground for establishing women in leadership networking and provided good base for effective partnership between women forums and dldp. 
Last but not least the WS laid the foundations of program implementation toward women representation in governance by strengthening the female candidates.
