Dldp, in the framework of the project for setting up the General Local Plan (GLP), organized on October 7th in cooperation with the National Agency of Territorial Planning (as the responsible authority to coordinate the process of setting up planning and territorial development documents) the first meeting for the start of setting up the GLP in Mat Municipality.
The meeting was attended by representatives of Mat Municipality, bid-winning company Metropolis, dldp and AKPT.
After opening remarks by the Mayor, Mr. Nezir Rizvani, dldp representative, Mr. Luka, presented the main discussing topics, which were:
Review of the initiative for GLP preparation, data gathering as per the legal framework on setting up the Analysis Report and Territorial Evaluation, as well as the establishment of a permanent Work Group in the Municipality to follow the GLP process.
The meeting will be followed up also with a public hearing to present this initiative to the public, where AKPT guaranteed the maximal cooperation with all involved actors.
Some of the main topics of the meeting’s discussions that require a solution were: land’s fertility, public/private ownership, informality and the legalization process.
Another point of interest is including the diaspora in the process of setting up the GLP, where the Information and Cultural Office of the municipality will serve as a focal point during this process. The municipality took upon itself to continuously keep the citizens informed through updating its official web page by presenting all steps undertaken to follow through with the Plan, in order to achieve not only transparency, but also to make possible that all interest groups (including the diaspora) get to know the GLP.
